Astrus is building the infrastructure behind a new kind of engineering system: a physics-aware foundation model for analog chip design.
We’re looking for our first DevOps / Platform leader to design and own the systems that make this possible.
This is not a maintenance role. You will define how infrastructure works at Astrus — from cloud architecture and security to developer experience and deployment systems. You’ll build the platform that enables our application and AI teams to move fast, safely, and at scale, while supporting the demanding environments our customers operate in. No prior knowledge of chip design or AI is required.
If you’re excited by building systems from first principles, solving hard scaling problems, and creating leverage across an entire engineering organization, this role is for you.

The platform, end-to-end. Define and build Astrus’s cloud infrastructure, deployment architecture, and internal developer platform from the ground up.
Scalable systems for real workloads. Design AWS-based infrastructure that supports product services, distributed training workloads, and large-scale data generation.
Developer velocity. Build CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code systems, and self-serve workflows that make engineers faster and more effective.
Security as a first-class system. Architect and implement strong security foundations across IAM, secrets, networking, logging, and auditability — not as an afterthought, but as part of the platform itself.
Customer-ready infrastructure. Create a platform that can adapt to different customer environments and security expectations without sacrificing simplicity or consistency.
Reliability and observability. Ensure systems are measurable, debuggable, and resilient under real-world load.
Compliance that scales. Help design and operationalize the systems and controls needed for our SOC 2 Type 2 journey.
Technical direction. Set standards, make architectural calls, and shape how infrastructure evolves as the company grows.
The future team. As Astrus scales, help define and build the DevOps / platform function.

You’ll stay hands-on. This is a deeply technical role where you’ll design, build, and debug real systems.

You’ve designed and operated production infrastructure in AWS at scale.
You’re deeply comfortable with Terraform, CI/CD, networking, containers, IAM, and observability.
You’ve built internal platforms or developer tooling that made engineers meaningfully faster.
You understand cloud security fundamentals and have implemented them in real systems (least privilege, secrets, logging, incident response).
You can design systems that are scalable without being over-engineered.
You take ownership and can set direction in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
You want to stay hands-on while helping shape a team over time.
Bonus
Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks
Kubernetes experience (with good judgment about when not to use it)
Background in ML infrastructure, distributed systems, or large-scale data workloads
Exposure to customer-facing security requirements or enterprise environments
Experience as an early infrastructure / platform hire
Interest in scientific computing, semiconductors, or technically deep domains
